Green Toilet 100 Easy is used like any composting toilet: all toilet waste and paper go into the same container. The internal structure automatically separates liquid without any action required from the user.
Bulking material can be added either after each visit or in larger amounts during maintenance, typically 1–2 times per week depending on usage.
Any excess leachate that is not absorbed into the compost or evaporated through ventilation is directed from the back of the unit via a liquid hose either into a canister or into a dry toilet filter, where it can be safely dispersed into the ground.
For indoor installations, we always recommend using an electric fan, such as a stepless control dry toilet fan. This ensures odor-free operation in all situations and makes the user experience especially pleasant.
When the composting container becomes full, maintenance is quick and requires no tools:
Tilt the toilet slightly forward so excess liquid drains out before disconnecting the liquid hose. Disconnect the liquid hose and ventilation pipe, insert the plugs, and attach the wheel set under the container. The container can then be rolled out and either emptied into a separate compost or sealed with a lid and left to compost as a spare container.
The compost in the spare container should be allowed to rest until the next maintenance cycle. In family use, this resting period is usually sufficient to make the compost safe for use in the yard. Before reinstalling, clean the exterior surfaces and heated toilet seat with water and mild detergent. Remember to add bulking material to the bottom before use.

How should excess liquid (leachate) from a composting toilet be handled?
Using a composting toilet typically generates some excess liquid known as leachate. This liquid is usually collected in a separate canister. While it contains valuable nutrients and can be considered an eco-friendly fertilizer, it may also include fecal bacteria and should therefore not be used directly on edible plants.
To reduce the bacterial content, the leachate can be stored in a sealed container for at least a year — for example, frozen over winter — which significantly lowers the risk.
Untreated leachate can be safely used as fertilizer for non-edible plants, such as ornamental shrubs and trees. It’s important to ensure that the application site is at least 30 meters (about 100 feet) away from any water sources, such as wells, ditches, ponds, or shorelines. Rotate the application area each time to avoid nutrient buildup and make the most of recycling nutrients on your own property.

It works much like a self-watering planter: excess liquid is drained away in a controlled manner, while the base simultaneously returns just the right amount of moisture back into the compost through capillary action.

The ventilation pipe of the Green Toilet 100 Easy can be routed in several different ways, making installation easy even in more challenging spaces. The pipe can be led directly out through the back of the unit or alternatively straight up and out from the top. In addition, you can choose whether the pipe outlet is on the right or left side of the toilet body.
Ventilation can be enhanced either with an electric toilet fan or completely without electricity using a wind-driven ventilator.
