Green Toilet Compact Lux
The Green Toilet Compact Lux is a waterless toilet that looks and feels like an ordinary one — the kind you would actually want in a summer house, or at home. A real porcelain seat sits in the bathroom, and below the floor a composting container quietly does the rest. No water, no sewer, and because the container is simply swapped out, maintenance is quick and clean.

Description
Familiar and effortless to use
The porcelain seat is the centrepiece of the room, and it is designed so that anyone can use it straight away without being shown how. It looks tidy, it feels good, and it works just like the ordinary toilet everyone already knows — which matters for guests, for children, for partners, and for everyone who uses a waterless toilet. With the standard non-separating seat in particular there is really no way to use it wrong, and no separate instructions are needed. Beyond being familiar, it genuinely stands up to daily use — it does not break in normal service.
The two-level installation supports the same idea. All that is visible in the room is the seat itself — small, tidy, and taking up surprisingly little space. Everything else — the container and the whole composting process — is hidden below the floor. It also means that maintenance happens entirely outdoors: nothing is carried through the interior, and there is nothing to clean up inside. Maintenance works by batch composting: one container is in use while the other rests quietly and composts into soil. No shovelling and no handling of fresh waste!
Odour control that works
The Green Toilet Compact Lux is completely odourless, and this rests on two features. Inside the container is a perforated false floor: solids stay on top of it, and surplus liquid drains through into the container’s double bottom, which has its own outlet and hose for emptying. An electric fan draws air continuously out of the container through the vent pipe, and a separate small grille lets replacement air into the container — so that it does not draw air out of the room.
The Green Toilet Compact uses the same false-floor construction found in every Green Toilet, which also works on a sub-irrigation principle: its feet touch the liquid at the bottom, so the compost can draw moisture back up as needed. The result is a self-regulating balance — not too wet, not too dry — exactly the condition compost needs to break down properly and stay odourless.
Swapping the container is easy
The base package includes one composting container. When it fills with solid waste, the swap is quick: release the fasteners, disconnect the liquid hose (the supplied plug stops any dripping during maintenance), and pull the container straight out from under the lid — the lid stays attached to the waste chute, so nothing else has to be moved. Slide the empty container into place, reconnect the hose, and you are back in service. The sealed lid goes on top of the full container, which is then left outside to compost undisturbed. Sturdy handles and detachable wheels make the container easy to carry and move.
We recommend buying a second container together with the toilet. One is then always in use while the other composts quietly, and a full container never has to be emptied in a hurry. The second container can also be bought later, and if you already have a composter suitable for toilet waste, the base package is enough on its own.
Adapts to your space
The container’s standard height is 500 mm, and it can be cut down in 50 mm steps to 450 mm or 400 mm — so it also fits lower spaces under the floor. The taller the container, the longer the service interval, so we recommend the full 500 mm whenever the space allows. If more capacity is needed, further containers can be added to the system.
Two seat options
The porcelain seat comes in two versions: a standard, non-separating seat, in which all waste falls into the container through the same opening, or a urine separating seat, in which liquid is directed from the front of the seat into its own collection. Which one suits you better depends on several things about how the toilet will be used — we are happy to help you choose. In Finnish holiday-home use the non-separating porcelain seat is the more common choice.

Works all year round
The Green Toilet Compact Lux is designed for summer use and year-round use alike, including a Finnish winter. Every part withstands freezing, even when full.
In sub-zero temperatures composting first slows down and in hard frost may stop altogether — this does not prevent you from using the toilet, it simply means the contents of the container resume breaking down once the temperature rises again. The container’s matt black colour helps it warm up in the sun, and after a cold winter it is worth putting the container out in the sun to speed up thawing.
If the toilet is used year round, it is best to start the cold season with an empty container. At installation you can also insulate the composting space and, if needed, fit the container with a frost-protection cable. Ask us if you need more detail on what winter use requires.

Adjustable height — the only one of its kind!
This is the world’s first composting container that you can cut to fit the space you have. Every cabin and every building has a different amount of room under the floor, and being able to adapt the container means the toilet fits into spaces where a fixed-height container would not go at all.
No need to compromize
It is often assumed that choosing an eco-friendly toilet, or not having access to a sewer system, means compromising on appearance and comfort.
Green Toilet Lux proves otherwise. The bathroom features a familiar porcelain toilet that is easy for everyone to use and fits seamlessly into a modern holiday home.
Easy to handle
The container has sturdy handles and detachable wheels that make it easy to carry and move during maintenance — a small detail that feels like a big difference when you are handling a full container.
The lid below the floor is shaped so that the container can be swapped without moving the lid.
Capacity that grows
If the holiday home sees more frequent use, the capacity of the Green Toilet Compact Lux can easily keep up. Additional interchangeable containers can be added to the system as needed, allowing even larger amounts of toilet waste to be composted into soil with ease.
Odorless indoor waterless toilet
Thanks to effective ventilation and excess liquid separation, you can trust the odorlessness of Green Toilet Compact Lux.
Simple and durable system
Green Toilet Compact Lux is a waterless toilet with no unnecessary moving parts or complicated technology. It is easy to use and maintain, and is built to last for decades.
