This white spare container is designed specifically for the white Green Toilet 100 Easy composting toilet and enables effortless batch composting without handling or shoveling.

For family use, one spare container is usually sufficient. For year-round use or a higher number of users, multiple spare containers can be added. This allows the toilet’s capacity to be increased virtually without limit.

Thanks to the spare container, a full compost container can be set aside to compost undisturbed, while the toilet remains immediately ready for use with the second container. When the next container fills up, the first one has most often already turned into soil that can be safely used around the yard.

Using the Green Toilet 100 Easy spare container

When the Green Toilet 100 Easy container in use becomes full, it is taken out of service and replaced with an empty spare container. The closed lid of the spare container is placed on the full container, and the lid that was in use is transferred to the empty container. The wheel set is attached to the container being moved.

Composting takes place entirely inside the closed container without odor issues. In Finnish conditions, toilet waste typically composts into finished soil in approximately 8–18 months, depending on climate and usage. For best results, place the spare container in a sunny location where warmth supports the composting process.

A few times a year, the compost mass can be aerated if desired by poking holes into it or gently turning it with a garden fork. This helps speed up composting. Leachate from the toilet can also be directed into the spare container; the urea it contains supports composting and helps maintain proper moisture levels.

In winter, a full spare container may freeze—this causes no harm, as composting will continue normally once temperatures rise.
